NEV
ЯLAND has two theme songs--each quite different but both full of anxiety & apprehension, though the first does so in a light-hearted way & the second is as depressing as a song can get.

"Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep" is a bouncy, fun song about a child who awakens one morning to find his Momma and Poppa have gone "far, far away".

I shudder everytime I hear this tune. I don't know songwriter Lally Stott's inspiration or intent with such a destressful theme, but the lyrics fit in with
NEVЯLAND's hellish scenery.

Sally Carr's exhuberence, beauty, and angelic voice (with just a touch of Scottish accent) belie the song's unlying terror that would envelop a Child whose parents suddenly disappear.

It's almost as if the Child is happy his folks have vanished!

---------------

"The End" is the quintessential apocalyptic song from The Doors and represents the the real horror and terror of Children left all on their own: "And all the Children are insane."

"The End" is the Dark within
NEVЯLAND.
